The author Michael Knox Beran, in WASPs: The Splendors and Miseries of an American Aristocracy, pages 455-46, appears to describe this house: mentions the disused coal-pit in the sunken area (near the cellar door to the kitchen), the iron boot-scraper at the front door, and the neglected studio at the back of the garden. The account would seem to date from the 1970s.

This particular so called 'former national capital' never existed. The place was occupied by a group of squatters in 1970 and they decided to form a republic and named the capital Frestonia. In reality, UK never had such republic and the alleged capital never existed.
