  • Former Site West Ham Bus Garage, Plaistow wrote 17 years ago:
Two buildings of interest here: 1. Essex Lodge - a building which dated back to tudor times and is now a doctor surgery. 2. The West Ham Corporation Tramway electricity department building. On the opposite side of the road is Greengate House - the former YMCA/East London Uni building which was bought by the LDA. The wonderful fascia is to be preserved with modern apartments at the rear.
  • The Spectacle Works, Plaistow (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
This building is actually The Spectacle Works - 80 apartments which were converted from the Whitefield's Chocolate factory building - not a market.

  • Imperial War Museum London, rmenon05 (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
A great museum. My only suggestion: change the name to International/British War Museum, the word 'Imperial' is out of date and puts of people.

For many years Albert Bigg Point was known as Albert's Bigg Point courtesy of some graffiti. It has now had a new blue makeover ready for the Olympics. Jan 08.

A nice little place. Very difficult to park nearby, sometimes impossible. Not a good place for disabled people.

This building is occupied by two major tenants: BP (Floor 1-6) and The McGraw Hill Companies e.g. Standard and Poor's and Business Week (Floor 7-12). You can also find the Mini Cooper show room and the office of Brookfield Asset Management on the ground floor.
