We arrived all the way from Israel just to see the filming location of one of our favorite movies. Unfortunately, it does no longer exist. Today it is just a huge construction site. Building has been demolished. Sorry for the bad news for all of you fans around the world.

LIVING IN ALLIANCE HOUSE WAS THE WORST YEAR OF MY LIFE!!!!! I have had to put up with inconsiderate housemates who continued to make as much noise as possible up until 5am most days. There is no sound proofing in this accommodation so you are able to hear absolutely everything. This resulted in my not doing as well in some of my exams as I hoped. Even though I had consulted my fellow flatmates about this and management and repeatedly called security, they ignored this and continued to cause as much noise as possible. Our flat would be full of their friends coming in and out and slamming doors and cooking at early hours of the morning. After having to keep on for 3 months I was eventually given permission to move rooms. I had to move all of my stuff out of my room without any help into a flat which was not as nice. As these halls of residence are predominately for postgraduates the fact they we are told we are only allowed one person to stay in our flat is absurd! My parents wanted to visit for the weekend and this caused a massive problem. The night security are rude!! After I had called down to them several times they responded with a huff, muttered a few things under their breath and eventually said they will come up but it took them over an hour. The kitchens do not even come equipped with a kettle!! Let alone any other essentials. The manager did not keep me updated after I reported several issues to him, so much so my parents had to ring him up twice. He said he would ring them back to let them know whats happening with regards the noise issue and they heard no more from him. The rooms are dirty and should at least be painted on a regular basis. It seems my flat has not been painted for at least 5 years! I found hair on my mattress and down my bathroom drain when I moved in. So much so that it clogged it up and I had to clean it out myself. The heating thermostats do not work. If you want your heating on you have to ask reception. This also means you can not control the temperature so you either have it on full or not at all. The list goes on. I have did not find my stay at Alliance House at all enjoyable and I shall make sure that no one I know stays there! It had been the worst year of my life, and I could not wait to get out!! Something needs to be done with regards this accommodation! I am thoroughly unsatisfied, I just wish someone made me aware of this before I moved in!!!!!!!

According to Wikipedia article, this is the origin of 'chicken run' associated with the East Stand in Upton Park: "Chicken Run' was an old wooden stand (standing room only) on the east side of the pitch. It was surrounded by a similar sort of wire to that used on chicken runs and when you viewed it from the opposite side of the ground it looked just like a chicken run. It was knocked down and rebuilt in 1968".

If you wonder what's the difference between a park and a common, here it is. A park is for recreation like walking, running, playing, but a common means that while it is generally used for the same purposes as a park, technically you could graze livestock on it, collect firewood or use the turf as fuel. In a park this would not be allowed as it would spoil it for everyone else - commons are pretty cool!

The statue, Peace, stands in West Smithfield Gardens and was erected there in 1870 by the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain Association. The work of John Birnie Philip she was one element of a large ornamental fountain incorporating a drinking fountain and was originally accompanied by four other statues Temperance, Faith, Hope and Charity which are now unfortunately long gone.
The rumour is that one of the Smithfield porters found a wedding ring whilst working at the Market. Unable to trace its owner it was said that he had the ring welded to the finger of the statue.
